March 17 - Inaugural Profound Autism Day
Promoting Safety & Advocacy

What a meaningful day of impact!

On March 17, in honor of Profound Autism Day, we had the privilege of providing free safety kits to autism families in our community—tools designed to support safety, awareness, and some peace of mind.

Each kit may be small, but the impact is powerful. For many families, these items can help provide an extra layer of protection.

We are incredibly grateful to the Humble Noon Lions for sponsoring these safety kits and making this initiative possible. Your support directly helped us place important resources into the hands of families who need them most.

More than a lunch, a moment of connection, advocacy and being heard.

We were honored to host a meaningful conversation with State Representative Charles Cunningham alongside families and autism advocates in our community in recognition of Profound Autism Day. Families courageously shared their personal stories—the realities, the challenges, and the urgent needs that often go unseen. Advocates added their voices, speaking to the gaps in resources and the importance of meaningful support systems.

We are incredibly grateful to Judith Ursitti, co-founder of the Profound Autism Alliance, for joining us at our Profound Autism Day Roundtable Lunch with State Representative Charles Cunningham.

Safety is not optional—it’s essential.

Why This Event Matters

Families of individuals with profound autism often face heightened safety concerns—from elopement risks to communication barriers and environmental hazards. This inaugural community event is designed to provide practical safety resources, while also creating space for families and advocates to be heard, supported, and respected

Our safety kits are intended to support families navigating real-life safety concerns often associated with profound autism. While no single solution fits every individual, we believe proactive safety planning can save lives and provide peace of mind.

*Registration is required to receive a safety kit.
Safety kits are limited and will be reserved only for those who register in advance. Safety kit registration is available for families across the spectrum. Kits cannot be shipped and only available for pick up at Tin Roof BBQ.

Children are welcome for safety kit pick-up only during designated kit distribution times.
