Upon graduation from East Texas Baptist University, Michelle accepted a position as a teacher and softball coach, which eventually led to a position within their autism center at her school’s elementary campus in Shreveport, LA. In that setting, she was exposed to ABA for the first time and quickly knew that this was the path she was meant to take. She later began coursework to obtain her certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). After relocating to Central Texas, Michelle worked as a Director of Special Education/Lead SPED Teacher at C. H. Yoe High School, where she completed her special education certification requirements and was named 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year. Michelle moved to the Houston area in 2015 and began working for Including Kids. She was hired right before the inception of their Center for Community Inclusion (CCI) adolescent and young adult program, and was eager to be a part of a new program for this older, often under-served population. Michelle completed her BCaBA certification requirements in 2016 and served as a Qualified Trainer for Including Kids. She later entered a graduate program in pursuit of her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. She received her Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis as well as her BCBA certification in 2020, while also beginning her journey as a Case Supervisor within the CCI program. Michelle continues to fill this role as Lead BCBA for Inspire ND (formerly called CCI), where she supervises staff, provides parent training, writes treatment plans and behavior intervention plans, and monitors client progress through assessments, direct observations, and data collection and analysis.
